INDUSTRY INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

INTEL - Storage and Memory Research Group

The Storage and Memory Research Group in Intel Labs is looking for interns. We are an innovative research group that works closely with key product groups, industry partners and academic research communities to advance the state of the art in storage systems. Though we focus primarily on systems software (e.g., OS, file system, and storage system), our research covers all aspects of storage, including emerging non-volatile memory technologies.

We are looking for highly motivated storage systems researchers to join our Differentiated Storage Services project. In this internship position you will be responsible for prototyping and/or evaluating novel storage systems features aimed at improving end-to-end storage system performance. Research platforms of interest include local file systems, distributed file systems, object storage, cloud storage, and databases (graph, relational, and unstructured).

You will collaborate closely with architects and engineers from across Intel to influence next generation storage systems. The candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills. In particular he/she should be self-motivated, show initiative, and be able to present complex issues with clarity to drive decisions.
