A technical comment was received on the iSNS MIB Draft during WG Last Call.
The draft MIB has been updated to reflect the following:
- Request the iSNS MIB support a new iFCP attribute called FC Permanent
Port Name as in the iSNS Spec v16. This attribute is not used by the iSCSI
protocol. To support this, an additional MIB object was added:
isnsRegFcPortPpnWwn OBJECT-TYPE
SYNTAX FcNameIdOrZero
MAX-ACCESS read-only
STATUS current
DESCRIPTION
"The Permanent Port Name attribute is the FC Port Name WWPN of
the first Storage Node registered in the iSNS Database that is
associated with a particular FC Device (FC Node). The PPN of
all subsequent Storage Node registrations that are associated
with that FC Device (FC Node) SHALL be set to the FC Port Name
WWPN of the first Storage Node, as defined in the iSNS
Specification."
