    Yes. I did not mean to imply that Class-2 had a built-in
    retry mechanism. Class-2 is simply an error handling mechanism
    which provides a more timely notification of un-delivered data.
    Any reliable delivery mechanism similar to TCP would need to be
    implemented as a session layer above FC Class-2.

    Fibre Channel, does not guarantee delivery.  The main reason is that FC does
    not have transport layer as robust as TCP.  A FC ACK simply informs that the
    frame was delivered.  FC does not have any reliable mechanism to handle
    retransmission when an ACK is not delivered.
