Job Summary - University Graduate Engineer

The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is organized within NetApp's Strategy Office and works with all business units. ATG members are involved in researching, prototyping, and evaluating new technologies. We work directly with internal product groups to apply these technologies to existing and future products, and to help extend NetApp's leadership in storage system innovation. We also take pride in sponsoring university research projects and collaborating with research groups at many universities.

ATG interns work across a variety of technology domains including:

  • Data Management & Next Generation Storage Architectures
  • Storage Class Memories
  • Cloud storage
  • Containerization, Serverless Frameworks
  • Edge computing and IoT
  • AI/Machine Learning
  • Computation Architectures beyond CPUs (e.g. GPU, FPGA)
  • Distributed and Decentralized Storage
  • Proactive Data Defense (ransomware detection, etc.)
  • Confidential Computing (enabling marketplaces to use data without content disclosure)
  • Security, Deduplication, Scalability and Performance

Required:

  • A PhD or Masters graduate in an appropriate engineering discipline

Responsible for:

  • Investigating technology trends with the potential of making significant industry impacts in the next 3-5 years
  • Prototyping, and evaluating new ideas for products in emerging technology areas.
  • Work with internal product groups to apply these ideas to existing and future products, thus having a directional impact on the storage industry.
