Programming Networked Multimedia

Abstract:
With the explosion of processing power and the push for high speed networks, computing systems are gaining the performance needed to support sophisticated distributed multimedia applications. Even with today's slow networks we are seeing low quality video conferencing on the Internet. CUSeeMe and the MBONE tools are evidence of this trend. This talk presents an overview of several systems that support the programming of distributed multimedia applications.
