Computer Systems Issues in Digital Mapping

Abstract:
For the insanely low price of a couple of pieces of pizza I'll give a brief overview of my research interests in the analysis of remotely sensed imagery. This includes topics in computer vision, photogrammetry, cartography, and AI. I'll admit to a strong systems flavor / bias in my work and describe some previous results on task-level parallelism for a rule-based vision system running on a shared memory multiprocessor, current efforts to move that work to networks of workstations via MIDWAY, and some speculative comments on research issues for spatial database servers.
