Samsung - Senior Software Engineer- Android, Windows and Linux
Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA
Samsung Display America Lab has multiple opens for Software Engineers to join our team and to develop the display SDK to enable future mobile display technology. We have an opening for a Software Engineer with hands-on experience developing consumer-facing apps, familiar with Open Source technology and ready to contribute at all stages of SW development. We are looking for SW experts from Linux core to wireless mobile apps.
Responsibilities
- Develop Android/Linux drivers for new types of display devices
- Extend functionality of existing HID, display, network, sensor and graphics drivers
- Develop Android applications and optimize their performance
- Create SW tools for HW emulation, build automation, application testing
Desired Skills & Experience
Required Skills:
- BS or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- 3+ years of SW development in C, C++ or other high-level programming languages
- Ability to modify, build, install and debug custom Android kernels
- 1+ years of Android development, solid knowledge of Android SDK, NDK and Eclipse development environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to deliver quality code
Desired Skills:
- Experience developing drivers for graphics, display, network, sensors and HID for Linux and Android
- Experience with OpenGL, GPU programming, CUDA, RenderScript, OpenCL or similar acceleration frameworks
- Experience with Android Frameworks for Media, Camera, Sensors and Graphics, as well as vendor-specific mobile application SDK's
- Previous contributions to shipping apps
- SW development experience for embedded systems
