Our Core Values:

Position and Requirements

Both full time and internship positions are within the WAFL (Write Anywhere File Layout) engineering team, which has a host of responsibilities for data mobility and availability. The simplest type of data mobility would be the mv command in unix systems that moves a file from one location to another. Customers move data for various reasons (rolling upgrades, storage tiering, hot spot load balancing, space provisioning and controller maintenance). Many storage systems offer data mobility of various kinds. For example, a few offer data movement without the movement being disruptive. Others offer data movement with some disruption or limited availability. In the disruptive data movement case customers typically schedule downtime and maintenance windows. Considering this, the ability to move volumes without disrupting client access is a tremendous tool for the storage administrator and the IT organization in managing data life cycle for their users. In this engineering team, you will focus on enhancing our ability to non-disruptively move data within a clustered file system without any data loss or impact to availability. Our fundamental team goals for data mobility are to be simple, fast, reliable, and non-disruptive.

NetApp’s Summer Intern Program is a 3 month summer experience that will provide you an opportunity to gain in depth knowledge about NetApp’s business and culture as you enjoy meeting with organizational leaders during lunch, network with your fellow intern colleagues at various social events, and present your hard work to NetApp executives and management.
