    SQL SERVER PERFORMANCE TEAM

    We are looking for people who are passionate about performance, and have the right skills to succeed in a performance engineering team. We're looking for good people for our test, dev, and program management teams because our group has been funded to expand to ~35 people in the next 6 months. Two of our positions are for college hires, the rest are for internal or external industry.

    We have a ton of interesting work, which we'll ship at a quick tempo over the next few years, including significant engine scalability improvements and ensuring cool new products fly like the wind.

    We are building on recent SQL Server 2008 successes in:

    • quickly catching and fixing all perf regressions during the product cycle;
    • establishing a new OLTP industry benchmark (TPC-E);
    • improving performance of SQL's business intelligence apps; and
    • delivering more broadly competitive ISV perf.

    Performance/scale is truly feature #1 for SQL customers, and we have plenty of technical challenges that have big impact on SQL's profitable and growing $3B contribution.
