INDUSTRY INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

HP LABS - Security for The Machine

Location: Princeton, NJ

Security for The Machine: The Machine is a 'new kind of computer' designed by HP Labs to deal with modern day data explosion. It is the Lab's flagship project. More information about The Machine can be found here: http://www.hpl.hp.com/research/systems-research/themachine/.

Our group at Princeton, NJ works on 'security for The Machine' -- from hardware to systems software to applications. Among other things, The Machine is going to use non-volatile memory (NVM) and optical interconnects. The internship will be on the security of The Machine's operating system/systems software. We are interested in exploring the implications of NVM on OS/systems security, and are looking for a Ph.D. student with background in OS/systems and security.

REQUIREMENTS

The lab is looking for a summer intern to work on OS/Systems security -- we are specifically looking at the intersection of non-volatile memory and security.
