    RESEARCH AND INTERNSHIP OPENINGS AT HP LABS

    HP Labs is currently seeking to hire researchers to work on exciting problems in enterprise computing and storage systems. Areas of interest include:

    • Enterprise storage systems: disk arrays, file systems, and databases
    • Management of storage and information systems
    • Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) systems
    • Digital Preservation: reliable long-term storage at reasonable cost
    • Databases for decision support; data mining
    • Enterprise IT management as a service
    • Service-oriented architectures: deployment techniques and autonomic management mechanisms
    • Automatic diagnosis, prediction, decision making, management and control of complex IT systems
    • Management of virtual environments, including Xen
    • Virtualization technologies
    • Next-generation server architectures
    • Power: managing and reducing power consumption in servers, blades, and data centers
    • Computer, network and storage security

    Researchers at HP Labs publish in major conferences and journals, work closely with customers and HP business units, collaborate with universities and researchers at other companies, and participate on program committees for many conferences.

    HP Labs has sites in many countries, but our current openings for computer systems researchers are primarily in Palo Alto, California.

    We are also looking for interns and postdocs for the spring and summer of 2007.
